Alan Grotheer is the manager of the NYC Benchmarking Help Center, a collaboration of the Mayor’s Office of Sustainability and CUNY Building Performance Laboratory. After many years working in the technical/financial arena, Alan launched a second career as a sustainability professional in 2011.
While pursuing a Master’s degree in Environmental Policy and Sustainability Management at The New School, he was a volunteer fellow at the Mayor’s Office of Environmental Remediation, and worked as a research assistant at The New School, where he researched and inventoried the University’s diverse responses to climate change. In addition to his Master’s degree, Alan has a B.A. in music from Columbia University.
